PHILIP PERING

H&S Officer

I think my Mercedes dream started when I was around 12 years old. Someone bought me a Mercedes toy car and I was instantly hooked. Every game I played and every dream I had usually included a Mercedes. Fast forward to age 17 and I couldn't afford one! Then Life happened. I joined the Royal Navy as an Electronics Engineer and serving out of Plymouth I spent time in Bosnia during the conflict......Twice. Then anti drug operations in the Carribean. I got married and three sons later I became a civilian. The Mercedes dream persisted and I still couldn't afford one. Now living in Cornwall the driving was better (in winter anyway) and I was still in various generic family estate cars. I've worked in Quality Assurance and Health and Safety for the last 15+ years and recently at 53 finally got my Mercedes. When I saw the advert in the club newsletter I knew I wanted to help so here I am. My wife and I both own Fun cars she has a rare MX5 and I have a C class Cabriolet. We also own Horses one of which is also very rare (a Suffolk Punch) I'm looking forward to helping the club with Health and Safety advice and look forward to meeting as many club officials and fellow members as possible, as we all get together with our love of these stunning cars.
