Have you ever wondered what it takes to keep a fighter working be it in either preservation or actual service. well this is your chance. The Lightning Preservation group have not one but three of these iconic fighters in their care. The Lightning is the first and ONLY supersonic fighter to be designed and built in Britain, and it has never been done since. All other aircraft that the RAF have had have been designed and built as a consortium.

The car park is on rough ground and will be a challenge for a wheelchair user, however, with assistance from members it is possible. The main apron where the event is to be held is good quality concrete and will present no issues. Unless absolutely necessary please do not bring pets, if you bring a dog please have it on a lead. Other aircraft share the compound and often conduct engine runs. If you have any hearing protection please bring it with you just in case.
