A well-looked after car with full service history in my ownership. ULEZ compliant.
If this ad gives you a feeling of deja vu, then that is because I am readvertising it after getting a new MoT and then departing on holiday.
A beautiful motor car even after 23 years, and looks particularly good in this colour - dark metallic blue referred to by MB as Tansanite Blue. I acquired the car in 2008 and it has been looked after carefully since then, initially by main dealers, then by a specialist Mercedes Benz independent. It has a full service history despite being little used over the last few years. The current MoT runs until June 2026.
Two expensive weaknesses of these cars are the fuel tank, which has baffles that become loose, and the SBC brake pump which can fail. Both of these issues have been dealt with during my ownership. The roof mechanism works faultlessly, and the air conditioning is well able to keep the car cool even in the recent high temperatures.
To give a bit more detail, here is a list of some of the non-service work that has been carried out:
2014: SBC hydraulic unit replaced
2016: gear selector replaced
2018: fuel tank replaced (failed baffles)
2019: faulty ignition switch replaced (only one key)
2022: both rear wings rust treated and repainted
2024: both batteries replaced, all undertrays replaced
2025: ATF gearbox serviced including replacement gearbox pan, new rear tyres (2000 miles ago), front brake pipes replaced, with SBC flush.
2026 (May): MoT test passed. one advisory - corroded fuel pipe (not rectified - unnecessary until it worsens)
Unusually for a pre-2006 car, the SL350 is ULEZ compliant. This car even comes with a "Crit'air" sticker permitting use in France where environmental laws allow.
This is a delightful car to drive, and I am parting with it only because I increasingly need four seats. The car comes with Owners Manual, full toolkit, fire extinguisher and first aid kit (The last two being as old as the car and so not guaranteed!)
