2004 R230 SL350 Well presented and maintained

Very well sorted, high-spec SL350 with extensive recent maintenance, red leather, panoramic roof and heated & cooled electric memory seats.

For sale is my 2004 Mercedes SL350 in Obsidian Black with red leather which I’ve owned for nearly 2.5 years. A very well maintained and presented example with a high specification and a comprehensive history of maintenance and preventative work by the last three owners. HPI clear.

Note: it is now back on its original registration number, EJ04 YBX.

• 3.7 litre V6 engine with 5-speed automatic gearbox, including Sport and Comfort modes
• Nearly 105,000 miles – condition and maintenance were far more important to me than mileage when I bought the car
• MOT until 30th November 2026
• Obsidian metallic black paint
• 5-year ceramic coating applied in 2022
• PPF to nose cone, wing mirrors, behind door handles and boot loading lip

Service history & recent work
Stamped service book covering 2005–2010 and 2018–2023, plus plenty of receipts and invoices from the last three owners. Main items are;
• August 2026: OSR new brake caliper, new handbrake shoes and fitting kit
• June 2026: New air conditioning receiver/drier, pressure sensor, O-rings and cabin filters
• June 2026: Air conditioning regas
• May 2026: OSF Bilstein front strut and coil spring
• February 2026: Drive belts and tensioner
• August 2025: Oil service – only approximately 800 miles ago
• August 2025: New Nissens engine radiator with genuine Mercedes top and bottom hoses. Cooling system flush and fresh coolant
• August 2025: New AGM rear battery
• May 2024: Service, NSF strut, wheel alignment and wheel balance
• May 2023: Engine and gearbox mounts replaced with OEM parts
• September 2022: Genuine new Mercedes black plastic trims either side of rear window
• December 2021: Front AGM starter battery
• March 2021: Water pump replaced
• July 2020 / 74,300 miles: Gearbox oil and filter change

Minor points to note
There are only two minor issues I can think of:
1. One of the small cover flaps on the rear deck, which are visible when the roof is down, is missing. This is a common issue on these cars. I still have the flap and simply never got around to trying to refit it.
2. I fitted an eBay leather steering wheel cover with red stitching. The original leather was in good condition, but I fancied freshening it up. I was impatient and didn't remove the steering wheel when fitting it, so the stitching behind the four spokes isn't perfect. I have also bought a second kit which will come with the car, so the new owner can either refit it properly or simply remove the cover and return the wheel to its original condition – or leave as-is! I can also supply a photo of the original leather.

About the car
I've owned the car since April 2024, having bought it from another Mercedes Club member. It has been a great car to own and tour in, but I'm only selling because I now need a GT car with at least small rear seats for our dog and grandchildren.
