A beautifully beige and rust free 190E.
This is simply a fantastic example of a 190E. It is obviously low mileage and features the desirable yet not so common five speed manual gearbox. With a tasteful and high specification including air conditioning, full medium red leather interior, heated orthopaedic seats, long range fuel tank and electric windows all round. Finding a 190E this solid underneath is certainly unusual and I have plenty of pictures from the last MOT to convey just how good it is.
In truth, as with most things in life, there are good bits and bad bits. There are some pieces of trim broken or missing inside the cab and I removed the original radio which was, to be blunt, crap. As well as some deformation of some of the door cards from changes in temperature and humidity. The clutch can judder when cold and there is a rattle that is probably exhaust related coming from underneath however none of these are catastrophic and due to going self employed I simply haven't gotten around to righting them. The car can occasionally stall when slowing down to turn and I sense a relay somewhere might need replacing which is likely very easy for somebody who knows what they're doing. I hope the next owner will be someone who is keen to give the car the love and attention she deserves.
With these points being made, I have spent some time on the car, including rebuilding the famed and delightfully smooth SLS (self levelling suspension) pump which has been perfect ever since, and fitting a new speedometer cable which was a little fiddly. The paintwork isn't perfect but I have put a fair amount of elbow grease into T cutting and waxing the car and it does look fantastic and unlike anything else on the road. The car is a total head turner and has struck up many a conversation. I even had one chap follow me from Watford to Rickmansworth just to tell me how much he liked the car.
I am only the third owner of this car, the second being the trade seller that acquired it P/x. There is unfortunately not much paperwork for the car but I do have a folder of any receipts that have been generated. It will be sold with the current MOT and four continentals with loads of tread.
I will be sad to see the car go as it really is a wonderful example of a timeless classic and the end of an era, that will surely make for a solid investment for the next owner. However, investments in my growth and development need funding and that is the only reason for the liquidation of this asset. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to ask anything and you would be very welcome to view the car.
