Runway Visitor Park (and lunch?), Manchester Airport

> Back to Events

Join us for a private tour of Concorde at the Runway Visitor Park near Manchester Airport.

The tour will start at 11.00am, lasts for approximately 90 mins and costs £15 per person.

The maximum number of people for the tour is 40, so it will be on a “first come first served” basis.

The Concorde you will see and board, was the second to be delivered to British Airways in 1976 and was affectionately known as Alpha Charlie. A walk underneath the aircraft will explore the ground breaking technology behind the supersonic airliner and Concorde’s unique aviation engineering.

Please note that the tour will require members to climb 26 aircraft steps to board Concorde, handrails are on both sides of the steps.

The 90-minute tour will include a pre-flight briefing, time onboard Concorde to enjoy sitting in the luxury leather seats including time on the flight deck.

The park is also home to a variety of other retired planes, the former RAF spy plane Nimrod, a DC-10, Avro RJX and a retro Trident airliner, offering a look back at what flying was like in the 1960’s & 70’s.

You will also have time to wander round the Visitor Park itself and get up close with unrivalled views of all the planes landing and taking off from Manchester Airport’s runway.

The car park is free as we have a tour booked.

If you would like to come along to this event, please book by 6th March 2025 as I must pass all the names of those attending on to the Visitor Park.

I am intending to include a lunch at The Romper pub, which is just up the road from the visitor park, after the tour. If you are interested in having a lunch, please let me know when you book the tour (food pre-orders not required, just numbers wanting food). The cost of this lunch is NOT included in the cost of the event.
