PETER GRUNERT

RO - London

Peter Grunert along with Clive Ricketts and Philip Thain is a Regional Officer for London. Peter lives in Battersea and has been a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club for four years, throughout which he’s enjoyed regularly attending events in the London region and beyond. His fleet currently compromises a 1975 W116 280SE (winner of the Club’s 40th Anniversary Trophy in 2019), a 2016 S205 C200 AMG Premium Line estate, and a 1985 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera. Peter has German ancestry, and German cars punctuated his upbringing – starting from the 1957 VW Beetle his mum passed her driving test in, two weeks before giving birth to him. Peter works as an editor and writer, with specialisms in cars and travel. His career includes 12 years at BBC Top Gear magazine, latterly as Deputy Editor; 12 years as Group Editor of Magazines for Lonely Planet; and, now as a freelance, editing books for Lonely Planet and co-editing The Road Rat, a beautiful, somewhat eccentric, quarterly car magazine.
