DAVID BAMBURY

I am David Bambury, currently the sole Official of the South Yorkshire Region as well as the W123 Model Register Captain. I have represented the South Yorkshire Region since 2011 and the W123 marque since 2018. I purchased my first Mercedes my W123 in 1985 joining the Club the following year. I became a more active member after my retirement in 2010 and when the Yorkshire region was divided in November 2009. Over the years the family Mercedes Fleet has included my 1983 W123 saloon, a 1993 W124 saloon, 1997 C Class saloon, 2005 C Class saloon, 2006 A class, 2009 C Class estate and a 2013 CLK. The current collection includes my treasured W123 and our daily runner, a 2003 E Class saloon. Over the years since the inception of the South Yorkshire Region, we have held many monthly static events winning many prizes as best Car Club in Show held by such organizations as The Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, as well as at events at Thoresby Hall and Wentworth Woodhouse. We have visited manufacturing facilities such as Jaguar and Rolls Royce, held events with local Mercedes dealerships, visited automotive supplier’s such as Mequiars, leather renovators, wheel refurbishes, dint and paint renovator’s, held Christmas and Opening season dinners, breakfast and evening meets at road and tyer safety presentations, front line responders such as the Fire service, Sunday lunches and car runs, along with our monthly pub meet where we invite speakers from time to time and have an annual show and shine event.
