I’m Phil Emmett, one of the two officials in the Yorkshire – West Region. I joined the Club in 2004 when I purchased my first classic Mercedes-Benz, a 230CE C123. Since then I have owned a number of C-Class, E-Class models as my daily driver, plus a few classics including a 280CE C123, a 230CE C124 and a 280SL R107. The R107 SL I have owned from 2012 and this car is kept for Club events and car shows. I became a regional officer together with two colleagues in 2010 to make the 'trio' of officials for the newly split Yorkshire Region into the current three regions. Since then we have grown the region, not only with new members, but also with new events, shows and pub meets which have proved to be very popular. The events comprise of breakfast meets, large annual events e.g. Fathers Day Classics Show, Ripon Racecourse Classics Show, The Knavesmire Rally, York, Road Trips e.g. The Yorkshire Dales Run, plus a number of smaller events in the region. We hold our regional Pub Meet at a 17th Century Inn from March through to October and these have proved to be very popular. We are always interested to hear from members with any new event ideas, which we can incorporate into our annual program.
