1971 280sl automatic 2 tops left hand drive

Lovely met red left hand drive automatic with power steering. Hard top and soft top.

selling my 1971 Mercedes 280sl left hand drive car. Purchased this directly from Las Vegas in 2016. The car is an automatic with power steering, with a red hard top and brown soft top.

The chassis number is 11304412019085 which is showing as titled 1971 on my copy of the original US title. The car was registered in the UK later on in the same year and showing as 1971 in the new V5 log book, registration number TNB608J. The colour code is 181H body and 181H hard top.

Prior to purchase the previous owner had a partial restore done to the car including removing the engine for a full respray in the new colour metallic candy red. Unfortunately, during the restoration, the famous hand leaded notches by the front lights got rubbed down and never replaced prior to painting.

There are no hidden surprises on the body with any scratches or dents. It is same as the day it left the body shop absolutely stunning in its new colour. Chrome work is in very good condition as you can see in the pictures. The engine bay is clean and tidy with some nice detailing. Car is nice and clean and solid and ready to be enjoyed. It drives really nice and brakes straight with no rattles.

The car has recently benefitted with the Bosch injection pump being sent away to Tower Bridge Autos for rebuild, new fuel injectors, fuel lines cleaned, new fuel pump, new spark plugs, various new rubber hoses, brake system been bled and new pads, new fuel tank fitted with new fuel filter. Various other minor things were done at the same time. There are invoices for it all. It’s all set up and running as it should, really nice and quiet and there are no oil leaks.

Minor down sides is; no tool kit, no rubber mat in the boot and no old service history from previous owner. Apart from that a really nice-looking car that drives really well. Am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. The car can be seen in my garage at my home where it has been dry stored since my purchase.
