A beautiful, low mileage, highly spec'd example in Tanzanite Blue with Designo Sand Leather interior. MOT until Sept 2025 - no advisories.

I have owned this vehicle for three years and am the second owner. The car was first registered in London in September 2002 and, as such I believe that it was one of the first registered in the UK. The car was purchased through the Mercedes network via the diplomatic channel and it seems that the buyer added just about every available option - Designo trim, panoramic roof, SL luggage, ski-rack fixings,TV, premium sound system, distronic radar control, telephone etc etc.

The car was mainly used for regular long trips to the owners second property in the South of France and when in London it was garaged in Kensington. Servicing was initially carried out by Mercedes Chelsea and then Drayson's, Kensington Mews. Unfortunately the service records for the latter have been lost.

I purchased the car when the mileage stood at 43,500 and I have incurred significant expenditure to repair most of the well-known SL55 'issues' and to bring the car up to the best condition possible.

The bodywork is in very good original condition, with no major work to my knowledge. It has a few small stone chips that I try to keep on top of with touch up paint. Servicewise the following has been repaired/replaced;

Gearbox service to correct oil leak
New PSE pump
New ABC pump and various valves
Two new front ABC struts
New supercharger cooling fan
New brakes - discs & pads
New ignition barrel and keys
I replaced all 4 tyres when I bought the car
The roof mechanism has been serviced and 'actuators' replaced

Much of the above work has ben done by my local Mercedes independent but work has also been undertaken by Mercedes Coldstream who undertook a major B service last year. The car is now back on the Mercedes Main Dealer service schedule.

The car is currently running very well. I have recently undertaken two 500 mile day trips to and from Cornwall and she didn't miss a beat. The vehicle still retains much of its original features including Nokia phone, tool kit, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, SL luggage together with the original bottle of Mobil top-up oil in the boot supplied when new.

The car is kept garaged and off the road during the winter months.

Hopefully a new owner will be able to enjoy some relatively trouble free motoring in this superb example of this classic sports car.

The car came to me with the personalised registration and will be sold with it.
