A visit to Caister Castle Car Collection, Norfolk

> Back to Events

Please join us for a visit to Caister Castle, at Caister On-Sea, near Great Yarmouth.

The Castle is currently home to the largest private collection of motor vehicles in Britain which is housed in a purpose built museum and includes many fine and rare veteran, vintage, classic, sports and touring automobiles and motorcycles. The collection is complemented by a display of bicycles, horse-drawn vehicles, pedal cars and other related items.

Admission includes the Museum and Caister Castle, which was commissioned in 1432 by Sir John Fastolf. The 90 foot tower remains intact and visitors can climb to the top for a magnificent view of the castle ruins and the surrounding area.

Admission is from 10:00 and closes at 16:30. I will be on hand from 10:00 promptly and hope to organise a parking area for us so we can all park together. There is a Café, so I suggest we aim to meet there between 10:00 and 11:00 before taking a stroll round the museum and the castle tower as you wish.

Admission price is £20:00 for an adult and £18:00 for a Senior Citizen which I appreciate is not inexpensive, but it does include parking and access to everything for as long as you want to stay.

It happens to be my birthday on the day (63 if you care to know) but I feel confident that I won’t be the oldest exhibit in the museum! I might even bring a cake.
