This event is the Cumbria Region annual Christmas dinner and hotel B&B stop-over.
This year it is arranged to be held at the Fleece Hotel at Ruleholme near to the Carlisle Lake District airport.
We were last here after our Aviation Museum event in October 2024 when we went to the Fleece Hotel for Sunday lunch. Everyone commented on how the Fleece would be an ideal setting for our Christmas event in 2025. So here we are, after much discussions and negotiation, it is reserved for us to have our Christmas evening meal and B&B accommodation.

The event is booked for the evening of Saturday 29th November. This date will already be in some of your your diaries, as it is the last Saturday of the month, so it coincides with our routine monthly get-together at the Moota Café. On this occasion I will cancel our Moota Café meeting in lieu of us getting together in the evening and having a great time together as we did last year.
Evening Christmas meal menu will be sent out when it becomes finalised and available, then you can make your choices and send these to myself for me to pass those on to the hotel. Rooms for this event are provisionally reserved and must be firmed up to the hotel no later than 6 weeks before the event date. For that reason bookings for this event will close on the 4th of October in order that numbers can be finalised and advised to the hotel in good time for their deadline and be invoiced. This will ensure that as per last year you only have the costs of drinks against your room to settle in the morning after your hearty full Cumbria breakfast. The popularity of this event last year would suggest that you get your slot booked as soon as you are able.
There are 3 single rooms and 7 double rooms reserved for us and it is possible to secure more rooms if needed, but I would suggest that you book your choice and make payment to the MB club as soon as you can to ensure you have your participation in the Cumbria Region Christmas evening event guaranteed.
The Fleece Hotel is a lovely venue with some lovely countryside views. We have a private room booked, for us to have our own space and to enjoy our meal; and we have our own staffed bar for the evening.
The accommodation is all modern and spacious and all rooms are ensuite and based on their “Classic Room”. The costs for this event are as follows: –
Double room B&B accommodation and evening meal for 2 people is £245.
Single room supplement with B&B accommodation and evening meal for 1 person is £200.
If you wish to just come for the evening to enjoy a meal with club members but not stay over at the hotel than that is fine too. Cost for the evening meal only will be £30 per person.

All parking and access to the hotel is on the level and is hard standing ground. Access to the private room/bar/conveniences etc is all on the ground floor. Access to accommodation rooms is on the first floor and requires the use of stairs.
