Organised by the Wigton classic car club the Dalemain car show is often billed as the signature show for Cumbria. Well known and well attended – at Penrith near Ullswater on the A592 post code CA11 OHB. A large show which this year is being restricted to 800 exhibitors. It is held in the grounds of the Mansion house and also has many merchandise and memorabilia stalls and lots of food vendors with lots of vehicle displays and judging competitions. This show has driving events held on the grounds for the adventurous and also a dog show arena.
The show is usually preceded on the Saturday with a drive tour called the “Rose and Thistle” tour for those who want to exercise their wheels before showing off their cars on the Sunday show day. Entry for this drive-it tour includes a breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea and has an early evening finish. The tour day must be booked individually via the Wigton Motor Club’s website registration form. Costs for the tour were around the £85 mark last year.
The Dalemain show on the Sunday is certainly a great family day out with all that is going on. Last year we had club members from far and wide attending, so really looking forward to meeting up with you all again and more.
The club attendance is a discounted fee from the organising committee and is payable to the MB Club when you book.
Each entry ticket permits one car, driver and passenger so please select the number of cars you are entering and then click the BOOK NOW button. You will be transported to the clubs payments page where you can enter your details and your card numbers to make a full payment. Entry price per car to the show is held at £5. Once you hit the payment button stay on the web page until you get a confirmation that you payment has been taken. This will confirm in the clubs dBase that your booking has been made.
Several weeks before the event I will inform the organisers of how many cars will be attending the club stand and by return I will be sent all the mirror hanger cards which I will either hand out to you if you are local to me at one of routine meet ups or I will send out to you via snail mail. You will need to have the mirror hanger on clear display as you enter the show ground to gain admittance. Please follow all instruction given on the day to find the Club area, there you will be marshalled to park up with the other club members. Look out for the large club flag banner and the club Coleman Shelter.
The price per ticket is being held at £5 – so a real bargain for such a large show. Final attendance instructions will be sent out around the start of August – but generally exhibitor attendance between 8.30 and 10.30 am should be targeted before the public are allowed in.
