The Kent region has once again, together with their old mates in London , come up with another ‘banger’ of an event for you, this time a visit to one of England’s finest castles, Dover Castle.
Set solidly on high ground by the coast and overlooking the town of Dover, it was a medieval VIP ‘show off’ and stronghold for many a proud king to visiting opposition.
Dover castle and the area is steeped in history going back over a 1000 years.
So, join us and take a guided tour of this fabulous ‘grade 1 listed’ historical site plus checkout the WW2 war rooms within the cliffs at the side of the castle.
Then as the sun sets wash all this down with your own picnic within the castle grounds overlooking the English channel and the busy port of Dover and, perhaps, even catch a glimpse of a Spitfire or two as they fly over head from Biggin Hill!

Dover Castle is set on a hill and some parts can be a little steep. Pathways are good and accessibility is available to most areas although there are some locations that wheelchair access is limited or unable to be reached. Dogs are allowed in the grounds but NOT within the castle keep area unless assistance dogs. Toilets, shop and café areas are available but you are encouraged to bring your own food, tables and chairs for a group picnic after our tour. We will meet up in the coach park near the entrance approx. 30 minutes earlier so that we can all enter the castle car park at the same time and therefore be parked together. The location of this will be emailed to you later by the organiser.
