Drive it day to Thornton Manor & Port Sunlight Sunday 26th April

> Back to Events

National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005 & has been growing in popularity ever since with the view to promote classic car awareness & to support the good works of the NSPCC in partnership with Childline.( radiator plaques can be bought from https://www.driveitday.co.uk/shop at £12.50, this is not compulsory for this event)

Join us at Thornton Manor Country Estate (CH63 1JB) around 10 to 11.30am. https://thorntonmanor.co.uk/ Light refreshments will be available, followed by a chance to catch up with club members and tour the house. There is an optional £5 car collection tour, (subject to availability )

Thornton Manor, a Grade II* listed building, was owned by Lord & Lady Leverhulme from 1893 to 1925. At around noon, we’ll drive to Port Sunlight, we hope to park close by to the village green that many of us will recognise from previous events with the Tane Valley Vintage Classic Car Club.

Explore the Village Museum, Lady Leverhulme Art Gallery with a May Morris exhibition  (daughter of esteemed designer William Morris ) starting April 25th, two cafés, a pub, and the Garden Centre. Claremont Farm is nearby for home-cooked food until 3pm. https://claremontfarm.co.uk/

Cost for this event is £5.00 per person payable on the day to be collected by me. (cash only please)

There’s no set end time—leave when you wish. Hope to see you there!
