The London region has arranged for a ‘return’ tour of ‘Highgate Cemetery’ in Swains Lane north London where another group will again be guided around this famous location to see the grandeur of high end Victorian memorials & headstones belonging to some well known and well connected people, its many burial vaults and also the famous Egyptian catacombs being the most prestigious and expensive of the options offered.
The costs of this tour is £20 per person payable through the club by completing the booking section and clicking on the blue ‘BOOK NOW’ button.
I am also looking again at a close by venue for a ‘group lunch’ afterwards which may involve a small ‘payable in advance‘ deposit paid again though the club.
For information, this years ‘lunch deposit’ was £5 per head.

Unfortunately there is very little parking at the cemetery other than for blue badge holders. There 'may' be a few places available over the weekend in Swains Lane however there is public transport with both buses and the Northern Line underground to Archway station nearby. From Archway station, you can walk to Highgate Cemetery in under 15 minutes. There is a bus stop near the bottom end of the cemetery on Swain’s Lane which services line C11. Alternatively, there is also a stop at Waterlow Park on Highgate High Street. This stop is close to a path that will take you directly to the gates of Highgate Cemetery. Bus lines 143, 210, and 271 service this stop. I have a walking map from 'Archway' underground station to the cemetery that can be emailed to you upon request at red.mackinnon@mercedes-benz-club.co.uk
