We have joined with the volunteer members that run Combe Mill

to offer Mercedes Benz Day Sunday 19 May 2024.

Andy and I visited the Mill on a repair and maintenance Wednesday during the closed season and we were truly impressed by the building, the exhibits and the welcome we received from the extraordinarily knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. Get any one of them talking about their particular area of interest and it is difficult to be able to walk away!

This will be a “steaming” day when all the steam engines will be in steam and the water wheel will be in motion albeit by pumped water…the stream no longer passes under the wheel. A tour of the Mill will be self guided, allowing visitors to wander at will, but importantly all the Mill volunteers will be strategically placed around the Mill available and eager to engage in conversation about the Mill and their work.

There is a café on site and there will be a BBQ offering burgers and the like on the day.

This is being promoted as Mercedes-Benz Day by the Mill and our Club. We will be displaying up to eleven cars majoring on SLs with cars ranging from w121(190SL) to w113 (pagoda) to R107 to R129 to R230 to R231 representing SL models through the decades from 1956 to 2020. The owners will be available to talk about their cars and and, no doubt, much more!

The ticket price is at the concessionary rate of £7.50pp with all persons under the age of 16 years free if accompanied by a fee paying adult.
