Mercedes Benz W108/109 60th Anniversary Model Register Event at MB World Brooklands

> Back to Events

The Mercedes W108/109 saloon model was launched in 1965 as a replacement for the 300SE/SEL Fintail models. Consequently this year we are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the “Old S-Class” as it is commonly known and would like you to join us at Mercedes-Benz World Brooklands for what I am hoping will be the largest number of W108/109 cars assembled in our Club’s history. The model was designed by Paul Bracq, the French automotive designer, who was also responsible for the W100 ‘Grosser’ 600, the W113 ‘Pagoda’ SL and subsequently the W114/W115 ‘Stroke-8’ saloons and coupes. He is therefore credited with designing many of the most iconic Mercedes cars ever built.

We will be assembling on the Railway Straight of the Brooklands Circuit (behind the MB World building) from 10.00am. There will be marshalls in attendance to direct you to your parking area, depending on which model of car you will be bringing. Please follow the marshalls instructions with care. There is more detail on what will be happening on the day on “The London Region’s ‘Great Members Get Together’” event page, so have a look at that if you’re interested in coming.

We will be sharing the event with a number of other model registers who also celebrate milestone anniversaries this year, and it should be a fantastic event!
