This year our Drive-It Day will take us on a tour of Anglesey. We will meet in The Victoria Hotel in Menai Bridge at 10.00am for tea/coffee and, if you wish a bacon butty (or something similar) to set us up for our tour.
After our refreshments we will walk a few minutes up the road to the Menai Bridge Heritage Trust Museum where we will be able to learn about the history of the Menai Bridge. For those who have mobility problems, there is limited parking local to the museum. Entrance to the Museum is £5 per person, payable on the day, and all proceeds go to the Heritage Trust. I expect we will be there for about 1 hour, after which we will walk back to The Victoria Hotel and collect our cars.
We will then start our tour of the island with the aim of getting to the Gadlys Hotel in Cemaes for some well-deserved lunch at 13.30hrs. The hotel has reserved a section of the restaurant, and they will cordon off some of the car park for us. The hotel will require a food pre-order, however the menu will not be available until February 2026ish. I will email the menu to members who book the event when it is available.
After lunch we will continue around the rest of the island, and for those who wish to catch up before we head home, we will park up in the large car park overlooking to the Menai Strait in Beaumaris and have a wander around this lovely town with its castle, jail & court house.
