You are warmly invited to join us for a relaxed visit to the beautiful Peckover House and Gardens in Wisbech on Sunday 6 September 2026. This elegant Georgian townhouse, with its charming walled garden and historic surroundings, promises a delightful setting for a sociable day out among fellow enthusiasts.
The Gardens open at 10:30 and are free for all. The house opens at 11:30 and costs £10 per person, free if you are a member of the National Trust. There is free parking at the Chapel Road car park at the back of Peckover House (Chapel Road. PE13 1RG), which I am told will have plenty of space for us to park together and is a short 5-minute walk from Peckover.
I aim to be at the car park just before 10:30 to meet and greet folks as they arrive and suggest we all head to the tearoom by about 11:30 if possible.
After exploring the house and gardens, we will continue the occasion with lunch at the Elm Tree Inn, Elm Low Road, about a 10 mins drive from the House. Please meet there from 1pm, with dining planned for around 1:30pm. I have a table reserved for 15 people at the moment I am assured we can adjust the numbers nearer the time.
Incidentally, some of you might remember I had hoped we could include a visit to Elgood’s Brewery in Wisbech, after the House and Gardens. However, it is no longer open for tours on a Sunday but at least we will have more time for a leisurely lunch together without feeling rushed.
Do join us if you can — it would be great to see as many members as possible.
