The Sussex Region Summer Party and Tulip Navigation Rally

Join us at the Toat Cafe for a lunchtime coffee or snack before receiving your Road Book and heading off into the beautiful Sussex countryside for a drive with a difference. You will follow the simple ‘tulip’ diagrams to lead you on a tour taking in some fantastic scenery and there will be a prize for the most accurate navigation (and the least!). After approximately two hours you should be back at the Cafe where our host, Maggie will turn over her kitchen to cooking our evening meal. We will have use of the grass area at the back of the car park so bring your picnic chairs and tables. If the weather is less kind to us we will have use of the Cafe’s giant PolyTunnel for shelter. There will be live music from The Sea Insects, a band including members of the Mercedes-Benz Club Sussex Region.

The entry fee of £16.50 per person includes entry into the Tulip Rally and a plate of Maggie’s delicious homemade chilli and rice, or a burger or a hotdog, both served with chips and a salad, plus your choice of tea, coffee or a hot drink. The Toat is unlicensed but you are welcome to bring your own beer, wine etc.

We suggest meeting around 12.30 to 1pm. Cars will be released at intervals from 1.45pm. This is not a race or in anyway a speed event. Accuracy in following the ‘tulips’ is the key to success! Although luck and a sense of humour will also be required in no small quantities.

This will be a team event, a navigator will be required in each vehicle but if can’t persuade someone to come along we can help make up teams on the day.

For those who only wish to join the after-party, from 4pm, the price is £12 a head.

As numbers are limited for the Tulip Rally you should book as soon as possible to ensure your place.
