We are pleased to confirm that we have organised a visit to the Oxburgh Estate in West Norfolk close to Swaffham about a 50 min drive from Norwich. Home to the Bedingfeld family for 500 years. Highlights of the estate include the moated medieval manor house with Victorian Gothic interiors, the Victorian garden, including a kitchen garden and the historic parkland, woodland, wildflower meadows and rare chalk river.
Free entry for National Trust members or £13.00 pp for non members which includes parking and access to the Hall as well as the rest of the estate.
We will have our own allocated parking space and someone from the club will be on hand to direct you to it. The car park opens from 09:30 and the Servants’ Hall tea-room from 10:00 which I think would be a great place to meet and enjoy a cuppa before exploring the estate.
It is by no means compulsory, but it would be great if you could aim to arrive by 11:00 and we might be able to organise a group tour of the Manor House for those who might appreciate it.
